The ground survey of great ape and elephant populations in Ivindo Ecosystem (Ivindo National Park and the southern buffer zone) using the dung count method. The survey was carried out in late 2009. Dung decay rate was measured in the mature forest (same forest type as Ivindo) of the Lope national park just to the southwest of this site about 100km away.
