Dryseason
The estimates of elephants using the aerial total count method at Yankari Game Reserve. It was carried out from April 29 to May 2, 2011 using the Cessna fix-wing aircraft. Due to poor visibility caused by dense forest along the Gila river valley, it was not possible to obtain a reliable estimate for the elephant population. Majority of the elephant population in the game reserve is mainly concentrate at the river valley forest during the dry season. With this concern, the elephant estimate was submitted as an informed guess.
