The estimates of elephants from a wildlife survey carried out in Luangwa Valley Ecosystem from September to October 2012 using the aerial sample count methodology. Transect spacing was 2.5 km in the core wildlife areas along the Luangwa River and 5 km in National Parks apart from the low wildlife density Lukusuzi National Park which was 10 km.
