The elephant estimate in Majete Wildlife Reserve obtained in October 2012. The total count method was used, but it had a low counting efficiency of 0.63. Additionally, there was a discrepancy in the elephant estimate obtained from Africa Parks Network (Majete) using a combination of total and sample aerial count done in 2010 (Viljoen, 2010), which gave an estimate of 260 elephants. Therefore the elephant estimate has been submitted as an informed guess, combining both the 2010 and 2012 surveys.
