This submission details the results of a 2009 dung count survey of the Future Ogooue-Leketi National park in the Bateke landscape, Republic of Congo. A total of 27 x 2.5km transects were walked in a single stratum, covering 65.21km within the survey area of 1 025 km². The dung encounter rate was 1.52 (95% c.i. 0.52-2.50), giving an estimated dung density of 329 (95% c.i. 191-568; CV 27.5%). Elephant numbers were estimated at 200 (95% c.i. 116-345), at a density of 0.192 (95% c.i. 0.112-0.332).
