This summary report details three dung count surveys conducted in the Campo Ma'an landscape (Cameroon) in Jul-Dec 2014. Elephant population estimates for the three areas were as follows: for UFA 09-021, 2 elephants (95% c.i. 0 - 6; CV 70.75%) in an area of 364 km²; for UFA 09-025, 200 elephants (95% c.i. 147 - 271; CV 15.66%) in an area of 882 km²; for UFA 09-024, 28 elephants (95% c.i. 17 - 48; CV 26.89%) in an area of 747 km².
94 transects were walked in UFA 09-021 totaling 76.93 km, 148 in UFA 09-025 totaling 145.57 km and 127 in UFA 09-024 totaling 110.76 km. All transects were 1 km in length..
Dung density was estimated at 8.36 (95% c.i. 2.36 - 29.63; CV 70.5%) in UFA 09-021, 417.74 (95% c.i. 313.77 - 556.15; CV 14.6%) in UFA 09-025 and 69.72 (95% c.i. 41.81 - 116.27; CV 26.28%) in UFA 09-024. The dung encounter rate was 0.026 (95% c.i. 0.007- 0.091) in UFA 09-021, 1.298 (95% c.i. 1.005 - 1.678) in UFA 09-025 and 0.217 (95% c.i. 0.132 - 0.356) in UFA 09-024.
