This summary report details dung count surveys conducted in the TNS landscape (Cameroon) between Jul 2014 and Mar 2015. A total area of 9349 km2 was surveyed in 8 strata. Stratum details were as follows: Parc National de Lobéké: Area 2 173 km2, 94 x 2km transects walked totaling 158.3km. Elephant population estimated at 1029 (95% c.i. 670 - 1582; CV 21.98%). Dung density was 794.2 (95% c.i. 530.53 - 1188.9; CV 20.53%). The dung encounter rate was 5.704 (95% c.i. 3.854 - 8.443). UFA 10-064 / ZIC 31: Area 1159.17 km2, 54 x 2km transects walked totaling 95.06km. Elephant population estimated at 547 (95% c.i. 356 - 841; CV 21.8%). Dung density was 791.75 (95% c.i. 528.98 - 1185.1; CV 20.35%). The dung encounter rate was 2.725 (95% c.i. 1.852 - 4.009). UFA 10-012 / ZIC 30: Area 745.04 km2, 54 x 2km transects walked totaling 106.82km. Elephant population estimated at 510 (95% c.i. 369 - 705; CV 16.41%). Dung density was 1148.4 (95% c.i. 861.91 - 1530.1; CV 14.42%). The dung encounter rate was 5.411 (95% c.i. 4.086 - 7.165). UFAs 10-009 & 10-010 / ZIC 29: Area 1773.17 km2, 57 x 2km transects walked totaling 106.79km. Elephant population estimated at 1353 (95% c.i. 928 - 1974; CV 19.22%). Dung density was 1280 (95% c.i. 904.8 - 1810.8; CV 17.55%). The dung encounter rate was 3.174 (95% c.i. 2.305 - 4.371). UFA 10-007 / ZIC 28: Area 812.44km2, 48 x 2km transects walked totaling 71.19km. Elephant population estimated at 555 (95% c.i. 383 - 806; CV 18.8%). Dung density was 1134 (95% c.i. 806.23 - 1595; CV 17.09%). The dung encounter rate was 4.720 (95% c.i. 3.424 - 6.505). UFA 10-011 / ZICGC 1: Area 553.09km2, 35 x 2km transects walked totaling 66.52km. Elephant population estimated at 147 (95% c.i. 82 - 264; CV 29.68%). Dung density was 444.69 (95% c.i. 251.87 - 785.12; CV 28.62%). The dung encounter rate was 1.714 (95% c.i. 0.984 - 2.984). UFA 10-013 / ZICGC 2: Area 1285.41km2, 63 x 2km transects walked totaling 101.92km. Elephant population estimated at 78 (95% c.i. 33 - 185; CV 44.91%). Dung density was 102.29 (95% c.i. 43.9 - 238.36; CV 44.22%). The dung encounter rate was 0.491 (95% c.i. 0.215 - 1.121). UFA 10-063 / ZICGC 3: Area 838.18km2, 51 x 2km transects walked totaling 89.85km. Elephant population estimated at 94 (95% c.i. 52 - 172; CV 31.01%). Dung density was 188.15 (95% c.i. 104.98 - 337.22; CV 30.0%). The dung encounter rate was 0.491 (95% c.i. 0.215 - 1.121).
